Lukas Oddsson
An Icelandic-American Violinist, passionate for Chamber Music, Recitals, and Larger Ensemble Performance. Currently studying at the University of Minnesota School of Music for a Bachelor's Degree under the tutelage of Professor Stephanie Arado.
Artist Biography

Lukas Oddsson is currently a Senior year Undergraduate at the
University of Minnesota School of Music studying under the
tutelage of Stephanie Arado. Beginning his studies at age four, in
his youth Lukas participated in programs such as MNSOTA Honors
Orchestra, receiving an award for four consecutive year
participation, as well as Sinfonia Youth Outreach Week. Beginning
around age 8, Lukas began studying with Minnesota Orchestra
violinist Aaron Janse, and has remained in his studio since.
In recent summers, he has participated in festivals such
as;
- The 2026 HIMA Festival in Iceland, participating in
chamber performances and a solo recital, playing in lessons and
masterclasses with world-class faculty such as Sibbi Bernharðsson,
Judith Ingólfsson, Sif Margrét Tulinius, Guðný Guðmundsdóttir,
Auður Hafsteinsdóttir, and Ari Þór Vilhjálmsson. The festival
ended with a chamber recital in Harpa's Eldborg Hall.
- The Artaria String Quartet's 2025 Stringwood
summer program - participating in masterclasses, lessons, or
chamber coaching with renown artists such as Nicholas Kitchen,
Dimitri Murrath, and Yeesun Kim, while receiving mentoring and
coaching from the Artaria String Quartet. Lukas also toured across
the midwest for chamber recitals, including Spillville Iowa,
Antonín Dvořák's iconic summer home.
- The 2024
Pienza Music Festival in Italy led by Professors Sally
O'Reilly and John Gilbert, performing in public recitals, and
masterclasses in the iconic Tuscany region.
Recent
performance opportunities include; a performance in a masterclass
with the celebrated violinist Angella Ahn of the Ahn Trio,
Thursday Musical Young Artist Competition winners recital, a Union
sanctioned performance position with the Oratorio Society of
Minnesota, studio recording session for local band
Barking at Ghosts and countless chamber
recitals and orchestral performances at the University of
Minnesota School of Music.

Thursday Musical was founded in 1892.
Lukas performed for
jurors, Beethoven Violin Concerto, Mvmt 1. and Eugène Ysaÿe Sonata
no. 4 Mvmt. 2, winning the Scholarship Competition.

Quartet and was awarded 3rd place [2025], and performed as a

A Minnesota Statewide competition, with a
grand prize of a concerto performance with the Bloomington
Symphony Orchestra.
